New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach is a quiet, seaside retreat located at the mouth of the Ponce de Leon Inlet, which serves as the gateway to the historic and picturesque Indian River Lagoon. Bounded at the South by the 57,000-acre Canaveral National Seashore, and at the north by Smyrna Dunes Park; New Smyrna Beach boasts 13 miles of stunning Atlantic coastline.

Comprised of a large barrier island and mainland area, New Smyrna Beach encompasses 32 square miles and has a population of approximately 23,000. The area offers outdoor and water-related activities, a thriving cultural scene, and environmental and historic treasures. History abounds, from Old Fort Park to the Sugar Mill Ruins. Visitors can step back in time and track the city’s history from the 1500s to today. Founded by Alexander Turnbull, the city is named after Smyrna in Turkey which was the homeland of his wife.

Flagler Avenue, a true seaside beach street, is lined with quaint boutiques, galleries, surf shops, and restaurants. Historic Canal Street downtown serves as the center of the community, reflecting its old town charm. A growing antique trade will let you go “antiquing” to your heart’s content. If you have an interest in the arts, you will feel right at home in New Smyrna Beach. It is a vibrant arts community ranked one of the “100 Best Small Art Towns in America” in the book by John Villani. New Smyrna Beach is home to the Atlantic Center for the Arts, a world-renowned artists-in-residence community. The city is active with art festivals, gallery openings, and adult and children’s classes year round.

Edgewater

Nestled along the Indian River and just a stone’s throw from the world famous Mosquito Lagoon, Edgewater is an Intracoastal waterfront city with small-town charm and rural character. Well known for boating and fishing, Edgewater is also a spirited business and manufacturing community. Edgewater has an excellent balance of residential, retail business, and manufacturing that provides jobs and a high standard of living for residents.

Edgewater provides a superior quality of life. Minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean beaches that attract more than eight million tourists annually, Edgewater is known for its scenic Riverwalk and waterside festivals. Excellent schools and leisure activities, well-maintained residential areas, and excellent civic services/facilities foster a rich environment for families to live, work, learn and play.
