BEACH ACCESS

New Smyrna Beach has a unique combination of a driving and non-drive beach stretches. Driving on the beach in New Smyrna Beach has been a tradition for many years. Beachgoers can enjoy a leisurely drive and park right on the sand to enjoy all that the beach has to offer. Unless it is high tide, driving is permitted on the beach from 8:00am-7:00pm from May 1st through October 31st and from sunrise to sunset from November 1st through April 30th.

To ensure that everyone has a safe and relaxing day on the beach please abide by the following rules when driving on the beach:

Many enjoy New Smyrna’s car free beach, which allows those families with small children peace of mind and ultimate relaxation. The beach is protected from all traffic starting at the 27th Avenue beach access continuing south to the Canaveral National Seashore.

Off beach parking is enforced daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the City’s five beachfront parks. To avoid a fine, vehicles parked in the lots during these hours must have a New Smyrna Beach parking pass decal or must purchase a daily pass at the lot.
